Pregnancy is such an awesome, amazingly scary time. Leading up to every doctor's appointment I'm a nervous wreck, wondering and hoping things are going accordingly.
Over the weekend, we were driving to a friend's birthday celebration and the peanut literally felt like she was going to fall out of me. Her kicks were so low and so intense it made me uncomfortable. Of course, I did the worse thing I could do and I googled pelvic pressure. Immediately, I see posts about people with incompetent cervix's who experienced said pressure before their baby was delivered extremely early. I go into a tail spin convinced this is happening to me. Particularly because I was experiencing the most uncomfortable back ache I've ever had earlier in the day. Sunday I laid around most of the day debating on calling the doctor. I gained some sense of reality and waiting until Monday morning. The doctor had me come in and after a quick check up, she told me everything was fine. The pressure is because my pelvic area is so small (shocker, I'm 4'11").
I had an anatomy scan today where they measure her to make sure everything is on par. She gave the doctor's quite a treat as she wouldn't sit still. The tech spent more time chasing her around then measuring her. The doctor came in and reviewed the pictures and measurements and I'm measuring right on 20 weeks, which I am today. I was thrilled to hear she is developing spot on as I've still only put on 6-7lbs and was kind of nervous. I feel a lot better after hearing so far so good.
Her bedding has been ordered and my dad is coming this weekend to paint her room. It's unreal how quick the past 5 months have gone. Hopefully the next 5 go just as quickly. I cannot wait to meet the little peanut that is wiggling around so much in there!

Dancing Baby
My last doctor's appointment went fine, I had a small virus. Nothing too serious, thankfully. This week my belly has really started to pop. Each day I'm getting a little rounder, clothes are really starting to get snug.
The peanut's movements are starting to increase a little each day. Last night she was dancing away. For a solid hour she was flip flopping around. Her little kicks are getting stronger every day. The other night she kicked so hard my sweatshirt moved. I can't wait to see little hands and feet.
The new carpet in the peanut's room looks great. I've picked out her bedding and can't wait to start assembling the room. My dad is coming to visit and paint her room at some point, hopefully soon. My next doctor's appointment is an ultrasound on March 1st. Looking forward to seeing the peanut again.
I can't believe I'm already at Week 19. Almost half way there!

Cold Season
My doctor's appointment yesterday went great, and the peanut's little heart was beating away. I've gained a whopping 4 pounds and my baby belly is starting to really be noticeable. I have my next ultrasound in two weeks and I can't wait to see how big she's gotten.
I've been fighting a sore throat since Saturday, I wake up each morning and it hurts to swallow for the first couple minutes I'm awake. A hot shower usually cures it. Sunday I noticed a productive cough with an nasty color tint to it. I didn't think much of it and yesterday I mentioned it to a coworker. She told me I should call the doctor. I brushed it off because honestly, it's only first thing in the morning. Well this morning as I was coughing, the color was tinted slightly red. I picked up the phone and immediately called the doctor. I'm sure it's post nasal drip since my sinuses are out of control but I'm going to have it checked out just to be sure. In the meantime, my husband has ordered me to stay off of WebMd. Haha.
Happy Valentines Day and Week 18!

The Peanut Is...
A girl. After much anticipation Friday morning, the tech at Baby 2 Be Images told us we would be welcoming a baby girl in July. While my husband was (and maybe still is) slightly disappointed, we were thrilled to see a healthy baby. It's still too early for me to start buying clothes, etc. but I cannot wait.
We're having new carpet installed in our upstairs next Friday so she'll have new floors upon her arrival. I have a crib picked out already and an idea of what I want her room to look like so as long as the next couple of appointments go well, we'll start assembling.
My bump is starting to really turn into a bump and my work pants no longer fit, I've resorted to the Be Band so that I don't have to buy a new wardrobe quite yet. Still experiencing the minor aches and pains that come along with growing insides but I'm not panicking as much, I'm realizing it's part of the package.
I have a doctor's appointment next Monday and we'll be able to see the peanut again. It's hard to believe I'm almost at Week 17. Almost half way there!

Baby Flutters
Two days until we find out the sex of Baby F! I cannot wait. I feel like I'm constantly wishing the days away just so Friday will get here.
I think I felt my first baby flutter Monday and potentially yesterday as well. I'm not entirely sure since this is my first go 'round at the rodeo but it's possible. From what I've read, it usually occurs between 16-20 weeks and women who are particularly thin (thank you Mother for these amazing genes) are more likely to experience the flutters earlier. Of course, I guess it could have been gas. But baby flutters sounds much cooler. I'm sticking with that. Still feeling great and my baby bump is starting to stick out a little more. I still think it looks more like a beer belly more than a baby belly but hey, we're getting there.
I had blood drawn yesterday and fingers crossed, everything comes back normal.
The next post, the peanut will officially have a name. Given that he or she cooperates on Friday!
