Never Will I Ever

I was the perfect parent- until I became a parent. Looking back I laugh at how many times I said I wouldn't do this or I wouldn't do that...

1) She won't sleep in our bed- I think every parent says this and most parents probably stick to this but after 3 nights of 2am's, if curling up in bed with her will get me 3 more hours of sleep then by all means, yes, girlfriend, snuggle on up. And I would be lying if I said I didn't mind holding her in my arms for an hour or two at night. (I always put her back in her crib when she's sound asleep).

2) She will be a balanced eater - Ha ha, ha ha, ha ha ha ha.... Have you ever tried making a toddler eat something they don't wish to eat? Yeah the other night, her dinner consisted of 3 spaghetti o's, 2 bites of green beans, 2 or 3 pieces of chicken, and 2 graham crackers. After trying to get her to eat a plethora of other food, I gave up. Some days are better than others.

3) She won't be spoiled - Right now we're living with one grandparent while our house is being built and another grandparent watches her for us. Yeah. 'Nuff said.

4) I won't stick her in front of the TV - Sometimes that 25 minutes is a much needed break. And watching her giggle at Yo Gabba Gabba isn't the worst thing in the world.

At the end of the day, I'm trying to raise a healthy, happy, well rounded girl. It's not always going to be a smooth ride. Sometimes the bumps are half the fun.

Yeah, I was a much better parent before I was a parent.
