Funk In Our House

I'm not scared to admit this, our weekend was slightly above miserable. The Peanut's cold/cough heightened on Friday into Saturday and it was not pretty in our house. She was cranky, tired and sick of having her nose sucked. I was cranky, tired and sick of having to use the nose bulb. My husband was just tired and cranky. She tossed and turned all night Friday trying to get some relief and she finally gave up at 5:30am after hacking for a good part of the night. The cough is all post nasal drip (I suspect, anyway). It's not a croupy cough or one that is particularly alarming sounding, but dry and continuous and causing her and Mommy a lot of grief. Her poor throat must be raw. I finally broke down and called the doctor, so hopefully tomorrow we'll get some answers or at least suggestions on how to get this funk to go away.

A good part of the weekend was trying to pacify her and finally I broke down and took her out of the house to get some fresh air on Sunday. A change of scenery was good for both of us.

She was able to sleep in her crib last night and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, she or I. She fussed a couple of times in the middle of the night but she didn't wake up for the day until 6:30. Pretty refreshing after middle of the night paces.

Grandma sent me a picture of her smiling this morning, rocking her Towson gear. I'm hoping she is finally on the mend.  This crud has GOT to go.
